A NEW fortnightly art and craft workshop has begun in an indoor market.
Susan Platten, of Crafty Nook, is holding twice-monthly workshops in Cafe Cenno, upstairs from her stall in Durham Indoor Market, Durham City.
Each session features a demonstration of a new creative card-making technique and the chance for visitors to have a go for themselves.
Ms Platten said: "We have been amazed at how popular the event is becoming.
"We are already attracting audiences of up to 40 and the event is still growing. It is wonderful to find so much artistic talent in one city."
Colin Wilkes, managing director of Durham Markets, said: "I’m delighted at Susan’s initiatives in hosting these events.
"The Indoor Market is very happy to help facilitate by keeping the market hall open late for the workshops."
Future sessions will be held on Tuesday, May 10, and Thursday, May 26, from 5pm to 8pm. Participation costs £7.50 per person, including all materials. To book a place, call Crafty Nook on 07540-829914.
