A DROP-in group for young parents will begin at an outreach centre later this year.
The group, for young parents or young parents-to-be, will be held at Durham County Council’s Eden Hill Sure Start outreach centre, at 77/79 Eden Hill Road, Peterlee, each Friday from April 1.
Sessions will run from 12pm to 3pm.
Activities on offer will include: lunch and refreshments, a sensory room, soft play room, chill out room, access to music and Nintendo Wii, baby massage, weaning course, ante natal care and support, food hygiene training, first aid training, support services including advice on benefits and housing and family worker advice and support.
Visitors will also have the chance to meet others, enjoy time together, share ideas and get involved in what Sure Start has to offer.
All activities are free.
Samantha Neil, a family worker who will lead the group, said: "The group is aimed at young parents or young parents-to-be who would like to meet other young people in similar situations, get advice and take part in activities."
