A COMMUNITY day is being held in north Durham to give people the chance find out more about services available in their area and put forward ideas for the future of community buildings.
It has been organised by the Derwent Valley Partnership and is being held at St Patrick’s Church, on Victoria Road, in Consett, Saturday October 30 from 10am-3pm The event aims to provide information to local groups, partnerships and residents about activities and community buildings.
Agencies taking part include Dewentside Council for Voluntary Services (DCVS) and Durham Rural Community Council.
Workshops will be held throughout the day to provide information on topics such as volunteering.
Phillip Marshal, who sits on the Derwent Valley Partnership board, said: "This is a brilliant opportunity for local communities to get information on their area and I would urge people to come along."
Attendees will be asked to give their views on the best use for community buildings.
