A GOLF day which raised more than £6,000 for a cancer charity is set to become an annual event.
The Ladies Pink Ribbon Charity Day was held at Ramside Hall Hotel and Golf Club on October 4, timed to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
More than 70 ladies from as far afield as Lancashire and Nottinghamshire enjoyed an 18-hole round of golf, followed by presentation dinner and raffle supported by local businesses.
The event raised £6,250 for the charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer Organiser Christine Gott decided to hold the day after visiting a similar event in Harrogate last year, during her 12 months as Ladies Captain at Ramside.
Mrs Gott, of East Stanley, said: "It was an absolutely tremendous day. This was our first year and now we would like to do it every year."
