SUPPORT sessions for Polish families in north Durham have been organised.

Sure Start is inviting people to drop into their sessions at Glenroyd House, on Medomsley, in Consett, for advice and to meet other mums, dads and carers.

A translator will be on hand and families can find out more about services available in the area for those with children under five.

Information will be available on health, childcare, employment and other more general issues affecting Polish people who have chosen to make County Durham their home.

Rachael Plews, family support worker with Durham County Council’s Sure Start, said: "Come along and have any questions answered, find out more about services available or tell us of any ideas to make services better." A welcome pack has been compiled and includes useful information about living and working in the area and provides a directory of useful numbers, websites and addresses where local services can be found.

Sessions will take place on October 25 and November 29 between 10am and noon and there is no need to book a place.
