A HOSPICE is to host a picnic in the park this weekend.
St Cuthbert’s Hospice will welcome visitors into its four-acre grounds at Park House, in Merryoaks, Durham, on Saturday, July 17, from 12pm to 3pm.
Flowers, jewellery, gifts and home-made produce will be on sale and a brass band will perform. Children’s activities will include face-painting, a guess the name of the teddy bear contest and a lucky dip.
Rachel Jobson, a hospice fundraiser, said: "Picnic in the Park will celebrate the best of the British summer at St Cuthbert’s Hospice.
"We’ll have a sizzling barbecue outside and plenty of sandwiches and cakes to buy, with proceeds going towards our care services, so all you’ll need to remember is your best picnic rug or deckchairs.
"We are fortunate enough to have a beautiful 19th Century building where activities, stalls and food will be moved in the event of rain, so wet weather will not dampen our spirits."
Admission is free. For more information, call the hospice on 0191-386-1170.
