AN EXHIBITION exploring the region’s mining history has returned to a Durham library.
The Pit Art exhibition, by North-East artist Ron Gray, was at Clayport Library, in Millennium Place, Durham, in December.
It has now returned by popular demand.
Mr Gray followed in his father’s footsteps to work underground in the mines and his experiences have inspired his art.
Many of his pieces feature pitmen in the 1940s and 1950s.
Pit Art is at Clayport Library until Friday, May 28, as part of the library’s celebration of Local History Month.
Admission is free. For more information, call Clayport Library on 0191-386-4003.
