THE 60th anniversary of the birth of the European Union will be marked at an activity day at a central library on Sunday.
Visitors to Clayport Library, in Durham, will be invited to take part in a variety of free activities to mark Europe Day.
As well as the opportunity to make flags and banners, youngsters will be able to decorate a t-shirt with a European flag or logo.
Visitors will also be able to browse newspapers from various European nations and find out more about the union, itself, from a display of books and information.
Activities have been organised thanks to grants from Europe Direct North-East and Durham County Council.
The library, opposite the Gala Theatre, in Millennium Place, will be open from 10.30am to 4.30pm, with craft sessions starting at 2.30pm.
