STUDENTS will be given the chance to see a thought-provoking theatre production depicting the aftermath of a fictional terror attack.
Not in My Name will be staged at the Lubetkin Theatre at the East Durham College, in Peterlee, at 9am and 2pm on Thursday (March11).
The production looks at the community impact and personal consequences of a fictional attack in the centre of a small northern town, as told from the perspective of over thirty young characters.
College student liaison officer Beth Pearson, who arranged for the production to be staged at the college, said: "This production is designed to develop young people’s understanding of the current issues surrounding religious extremism. It can help to promote racial equality and cohesion."
Not In My Name was originally commissioned by the Counter Terrorism Branch of the Lancashire Constabulary, in a partnership with Burnley Youth Theatre, in 2008, and is written and directed by Alice Bartlett.
There may be some free spare tickets available. For more details contact Ms Pearson on 0191- 518 8232.
