A RARELY-performed choral work will be aired twice on consecutive days in some of the region’s most inspiring religious buildings.
The Durham Singers are to perform Brahms’ German Requiem in the Throne Room at Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland, and again at Sunderland Minster next week.
Choir member Duncan Brown, a former member of the prestigious National Youth Choir from Langley Moor, will sing the demanding bass solo part.
The Durham Singers will be joined for this performance by soprano Claire Weston, a former principal artist at English National Opera.
The concerts take place in the Throne Room at Auckland Castle on Friday, March 12 and Sunderland Minster on Saturday, March 13, both at 7.30pm.
Tickets for both performances are priced £15, or £10 for concessions, and are available from Durham Tourist Information or www.wegottickets.com.
