AN evening of classical music is being staged by the chairman of Durham County Council.
Councillor Brian Myers is inviting the public to join him for the event, in the council chamber, at County Hall, Durham, on Friday March 12.
It will feature Soraya Mafa, winner of the National Junior Song Prize in 2004.
She will be joined by soloist Mark Burns and pianist Tim Abel, who are studying alongside Ms Mafa, at the Royal Northern College of Music.
They will appear with cellist Alex McQuiston, who is now studying with international soloist Johnannes Goritzki, at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
Tickets for the evening cost £10 and include a champagne and canapé reception.

Audience members are asked to arrive at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
