THE first solo show of one of British landscaping painting’s rising stars is going on display in Durham. Trevelyan College Fine Arts Committee is staging Amelia Humber’s exhibition, Carrbridge to Perranporth, from today (MonJan25) until Friday March 12.
Ms Humber was selected for the Singer and Friedlander Watercolour Exhibition at The Mall Galleries in 2006 and the following year had a sell-out graduation show at Falmouth College of Arts.
Since graduating she has exhibited across the South of England and is always in demand for commissions.
Gillie Bradshaw, Voluntary Administrator on behalf of Trevelyan College Fine Arts Committee , said: "Amelia's exhibition at Trevelyan College will comprise oil paintings on board, inspired by her recent travels in Britain, from Carrbridge in the Scottish Highlands to Perranporth in Cornwall, via the North East of England where she has family ties.
"Her paintings explore and express her emotional response to the sublime and dramatic in our changing landscape.’’ The exhibition is at Trevelyan College, Elvet Hill Road, and is usually open between 10am and 6pm.
The display may occasionally close earlier due to other events in college. Visitors are advised to check on 0191-334 7000 before travelling.
