TWO sisters are hoping to clean up in business after setting up for themselves.
Debbie Benfold and Lynne Davison have set up a domestic cleaning firm called Dely after borrowing money from a landlord.
The fledgling company received a £1,800 loan from Derwentside Homes and another £1,500 grant from the Be Enterprising fund.
Ms Benfold is a 31-year-old tenant of Derwentside Homes who was a deputy manager with Woolworths before the closure of the High Street store just over 12 months ago.
She said: "The loan will enable me to work for myself which has been a dream of mine since leaving school.
"I worked myself up from a cashier to a management position at Woolworths, so I’ve always been very business minded.
"The business is going to make a huge difference not only to me, but also to my sister who hasn’t worked since giving up work nine years ago and having children."
The pair plan to offer a cleaning service for the elderly, lone parents and working families and plan to recruit more staff as soon as business increases.
