FOUR candidates will contest a by-election for a vacant seat on Durham County Council.
The election of a new councillor for Easington division follows the death in September of Coun Richard Burnip, who held the seat for Labour.
The seat will be contested by Alan Barker, Labour; Carole Maria Harrison, Liberal Democrats; Terry Murray, Independent and Margaret Reid, Conservative.
The election is scheduled to be held on February 11.
