MOTORISTS will be able to enjoy a burst of floral colour when they pass through Durham this spring following a generous donation.
Members of three rotary clubs in the city joined forces to present dozens of daffodil bulbs to Durham County Council.
The bulbs, which have been planted along Rotary Way, Pity Me, have been donated by the Durham, Durham Bede and Elvet branches of the Rotary Club.
Councillor Brian Stephens, cabinet member for neighbourhoods and local partnerships, said: “The Rotary Club has a lengthy history of helping to improve the appearance of the local area.
“In the past, their members have planted trees and collected litter and debris as well as planting up flowerbeds and helping to maintain them.
“Their latest contribution will bring some real colour to a busy city road.”
