A STUDENT theatre group is staging a comic chamber opera this week.
Durham University Light Opera Group (DULOG) will present Benjamin Britten’s Albert Herring at the Assembly Rooms Theatre, 40 North Bailey, Durham, from November 12 to 14.
The production follows a successful staging of Carmen and promises an evening of fun and laughter.
The work takes some inspiration from Gilbert and Sullivan, with amusing dialogue and lyrics.
The music will be provided by Durham University Orchestral Society.
There will be performances each night at 7.30pm. Tickets for Thursday, November 12, are £4.50 for all. For the following two nights, admission is £4.50 for Durham Student Theatre members, £5 for NUS members and £6 for others.
