THREE local bands will take to the stage to raise money for children with autism at the weekend.
Punk band LadyKillers will be joined by rockers Room 51 and Acoustic Sofa from 7.30pm at Blackhill Comrades Club, Ridley Street, Blackhill, near Consett, on Saturday November 14 to raise money and awareness for the County Durham Autistic Support Group.
The group is a charity run by parents that provides advice, information and support for families and professionals.
It works with local authorities to promote awareness and improve services for people on the autistic spectrum and runs an informal advice line.
Support group meetings are held monthly in Stanley, to which children are welcome, and monthly social nights are held for parents. More information about the charity can be found at www.cdasg.org.uk Tickets cost £3 and are available from the club in advance or on the door, or from LadyKillers band member Paddy Naughton on 07725 483131.
