CAMPAIGNERS are calling on families, businesses and organisations to send a clear message to negotiators at the Copenhagen climate summit.
Climate Durham wants people to contribute to a vision statement for a lower carbon future at a public meeting to be held next week.
Chair Janie Bickersteth said: "After working locally for a year we want to reach out to a wider audience. We have shown that local communities can make a difference by working together on climate issues.
"Our message to climate change negotiators will be that a worldwide agreement will enable and encourage local action to follow."
Durham City’s Labour MP Roberta Blackman-Woods and North-East Liberal Democrat MEP Fiona Hall are both supporting the event.
The meeting will be held in Durham Town Hall on Friday, November 13, between 12.30pm and 2pm.
