A VETERINARY charity is appealing for donations of furniture to help raise funds for sick and injured pets.
The PDSA shop in Chester-le-Street is on the look-out for good quality furniture such as beds, sofas, tables and chairs, coffee tables and side units and bric-a-brac, including picture frames, ornaments, and toiletries.
Shop manager Phil Clark said: "We're urging local people who have recently redecorated or moved house to think of PDSA when getting rid of their unwanted furniture and bric-a-brac.
"We really need good quality items that can be sold in the shop to raise much needed funds for the charity.
"We also need clothes, books and CDs. All items are very gratefully received.’’ Donations can be taken to the shop, at 120C Front Street, Monday to Saturday between 9am to 5pm.
Larger items can be collected and this can be arranged by calling 0191-388 1676.
The charity provides free veterinary treatment for the pets of people on housing and council tax benefit.
