A FARM shop is in the running for four awards in a prestigious national competition.
Knitsley Farm Shop, Knitsley, near Consett, County Durham, has been shortlisted in the Farm Retail Awards run by the National Farmers' Retail and Markets Association (FARMA) It is up for the best new farm shop, the Own and Local Award, and the awards for best on-farm cafe, and best on-farm butchery.
The winners will be announced on January 26.
Owners Edward and Rachael Jewson designed and built the shop and café to bring good food and provide a place for people to meet.
Rachael Jewson said: "We are delighted to have reached the finals of the FARMA awards this year.
"We have achieved a lot in a short space of time, having worked hard to get the message out and produce great quality food, and feel very much part of the community here; to be a finalist in these awards is a real encouragement."
The shop has been visited by a mystery shopper and will be visited by a panel of judges.
