A MASKED raider escaped with cash after threatening a woman assistant in a betting shop.
The man, who was carrying a knife, burst into Pagebet Bookmakers in Front Street, Pelton, near Chester-le-Street.
He threatened the assistant with the knife and demanded cash. The man fled after being handed a sum of money.
The incident happened just after 9pm on Tuesday and details have just been released by Durham Police.
The robber is described as 5ft 8in and about 20 and he was wearing a disguise over his face. He was also wearing a black hooded top.
