SCHOOL children were taught how to inspire others by a science busker.
Science busker David Price showed pupils at Framwellgate School Durham how to demonstrate fun in science, including skewering a balloon without making it pop and listening to sound that travels through an oven grill suspended on strings.
The youngsters will now perform the tricks themselves at events across Durham in the weeks ahead. An older group of sixth form students are already taking bookings for the show.
Mr Price said: "Science busking really helps to make science more accessible and get pupils excited about it.
"It also gives young people public speaking skills and helps to promote science out in the community.
"People are often put off the idea of science because it seems too inaccessible and academic, but actually it is full of fun and there are amazing possibilities to be a showman."
