RECITAL: Organ recital series continues at Ushaw
A SERIES of cultural events at a former Catholic seminary will continue with an organ recital.
The Edwin Bonney Organ Recital Series at St Cuthbert’s Chapel, Ushaw, near Durham, will feature organist Allan Coombes at 2.30pm on Saturday, September 16.
Mr Coombes is Organist of St Margaret of Antioch Parish Church, Crossgate, Durham.
The recital will include Praeludium in E minor by Bruhns, Hindemith’s Organ Sonata No. 3 and Te Deum by Reger. A retiring collection will be taken.
The organ recital series promotes an eclectic range of music from the classical organ repertoire, from renaissance to baroque and romantic to twentieth century.
The Refectory Cafe will be open from 11am to 5pm.
