A GROUP of former classmates are to hold a reunion, more than 50 years after they left school.

Former pupils at Benfieldside Senior School in Benfieldisde, near Consett are to hold a get-together for those who left the school in 1960.

So far, around 15 former schoolmates have been traced and organisers hope to trace the remainder in time for the reunion afternoon which is due to be held in March.

Most of the former pupils, who attended the school from 1956-60, will celebrate their 70th birthdays this year.
