A STUDIO academy is getting set to host its first open evenings at its new home in east Durham.
The Apollo Studio Academy at East Durham College’s Peterlee Campus, will hold the evenings from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday (December 2) and Thursday (December 4).
The first evening on Tuesday will be for current Year 9 students looking to start on Year 10 courses and the second event on Thursday will be for Year 11 students looking to start on post-16 courses at the academy, starting in September 2015.
These open evenings will give potential students and their families the opportunity to meet staff members, current students and check out the great facilities.
Apollo Studio Academy principal Sally Hudson said: “We are having a great first year here at Apollo and we want to continue going from strength-to-strength.
“These open evenings next month will be a chance for potential students to come and see our new area at East Durham College’s Peterlee Campus and to find out what the Academy is all about
“Apollo offers a completely different educational path to conventional secondary schools and sixth forms by blending academic qualifications and the world of work into one unique and outstanding learning experience.
“Student here, not only study towards national qualifications such as GCSEs and A Levels, they will also gain a wealth of workplace knowledge and skills that will set them apart and give them a real head start in life.”
There are no appointments needed for the open evenings - just go down on the evening for your age group.
