A SOCIAL landlord has appointed a manager to oversee the development of affordable housing in Durham.
Lee Carman has taken on the role of development and regeneration manager at Four Housing, having worked in project management for the organisation’s care and repair service.
He will be responsible for the development of new homes in the area.
Mr Carman said: “Four Housing is currently working on a number of worthwhile housing projects.
“There is a real need for more affordable housing in the region. I am looking forward to achieving the successful delivery of our existing housing programme and to getting started with our proposed housing plans for the future.”
Four Housing recently unveiled new affordable housing for people aged 55 and over at Cuthbert Avenue, Sherburn Road, Durham.
The scheme includes six two-bed bungalows and represented a £740,000 investment in the area.
The development of 15 two and three-bedroom houses in Millway, Gateshead, at a cost of £1.7m is currently underway, with Gateshead Council and Able Construction.
