A CHARITY flash mob dance routine has been performed by students.
East Durham College’s Peterlee Campus was taken over by the event in aid of the worldwide children’s charity, UNICEF.
Students from the college and schools from the area performed in the atrium to help raise money for charity.
Over 100 young people were involved in the dance with representatives from Cotsford Junior School, Dene House Primary and Secondary Schools, The Dance Academy, and The Garage Urban Styles dance group all taking part.
The flash mob dance was followed by a special dance show in the college’s Lubetkin Theatre.
East Durham College dance lecturer Kayleigh Gage said it was part of the charity’s Big Dance Pledge.
She said: “The vibe in the college when the flash mob happened was electric.
“All students performed strong and full of energy to ensure the audience left feeling upbeat and energised which after talking to staff was certainly achieved.
“I was also very proud of all the participants involved in the community showcase on the evening.
“All students performed to a professional standard showing great focus and fantastic commitment. I can’t wait for next years to be even bigger and better.”
