TWO charities have shared £2,356 raised from a music night. St Cuthbert’s Hospice and the Rainbow Trust each received £1,178 raised from Durham Bede Rotary Club’s Friday Night is Music Night, held at Elvet Methodist Church, Old Elvet, Durham, last November. The concert was sponsored by Lloyds Bank, Durham. This year’s concert will be on Friday, November 7.
WARD SURGERY: Elvet and Gilesgate county councillors David Freeman and Richard Ormerod will hold a residents’ surgery at 55a Old Elvet, Durham, on Thursday, March 6, from 6pm to 7pm.
COFFEE MORNING: North Road Methodist Church, North Road, Durham, will host a coffee morning on Saturday, March 8, from 10am to 1pm. Soup and bacon sandwiches will be served from 11am.
CRICKET PLAN: Brandon Cricket Club has applied for planning permission to erect cricket practice nets and extend its club house, on Brandon Lane, Brandon. Further details can be found online at durham.gov.uk/planning, using the reference DM/14/00070/FPA.
