ARTIST Sarah Gouldie will showcase her work at Durham Cathedral on Saturday (February 22). She will be in the shop from 11am to 3pm, painting and talking to customers. Ms Gouldie will also launch a new range of wedding cards and four recipe books.
ENERGY TALKS: A panel of experts will discuss Britain’s energy needs and whether the lights will really go out at Durham University’s Calman Learning Centre, off South Road, Durham, on Thursday, March 6, from 7pm to 8.15pm. WAR TALKS: The Workers Educational Association (WEA) will stage a new course exploring aspects of the First World War at Clayport Library, Durham City, for seven Thursdays between 10am and noon, starting on Thursday, February 27. The course will look at recruitment, the home front, the Belgians of Birtley, Thomas Kenny VC, war memories and tracing wartime ancestry. LISTENING COURSE: Durham Christian Partnership will run an Effective Listening Skills course starting on Saturday, March 15. There will be Saturday sessions on March 15 and April 12, from 9am to 3.30pm, and Tuesday evening sessions on March 18 and 25 and April 1 and 8, from 7pm to 9pm.
