DURHAM County Council’s One Point service is inviting parents and carers in the Chester-le-Street area to attend an eight week multi-skills course.
The course runs two days a week and is for people receiving benefits.
Senior family worker Tracey Turner said: “This is a great opportunity to get some training in a range of skills including: power tool training, manual handling, painting, decorating and joinery.
“Plus, if learners attend all of the sessions, there is the chance to take the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme test.”
The course, held at Pallion in Sunderland, begins on Monday, March 3. Free transport is included and leaves the Bullion Lane Children’s Centre in Chester-le-Street at 8.45am, returning to the centre for 3.30pm each day.
The course does not affect Job Seeker’s Allowance and there are opportunities to progress to other courses.
For more information contact Bullion Lane Children's Centre on 03000-268-643.
