A NEW crafty resource is available for families visiting the One Point Children’s Centres in east Durham.
The craft trolleys at Seascape, Easington, Horden, Wheatley Hill and Seaham Children’s Centres offer a range of paint, glue, pens, pencils and other equipment while at the other centres smaller craft bags are available.
Les Barrass, principal family worker, said: “We provide a wide range of arts and crafts activities for families to take part in at the children’s centre.
“Having the craft trolley gives parents and carers the opportunity to try these valuable creative play activities at home at an affordable price.
“We really want to encourage creative play as it is so important to child development, allowing little ones to try out new ideas and new ways of thinking and problem solving.”
Jayne Stewart, team administraion lead, said: “The craft trolleys enable parents to buy individual items, rather than more costly multi packs.
“Therefore, all items work out to be £1 or less, for example paint brushes from 20p each and three coloured pencils for 10p.”
