A STUDENT is in training to climb Africa’s highest mountain.
Lauren Frisby, of Gilesgate, Durham, will attempt to scale Mount Kilimanjaro in September in the hope of raising £2,850 for Practical Action.
As part of her effort, Miss Frisby, who is currently studying law at Nottingham University, is holding a fundraising concert at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Lane, Durham City, on Saturday, March 15, at 7pm.
It will feature local musicians Aftershock, Dalaro and Sophie Johnson and tickets, priced £4 each, will be available on the door.
Proceeds will go straight to Practical Action, an international non-governmental organisation that uses technology to tackle poverty.
