AN application to build a wind turbine on farmland near a popular walkway has been withdrawn.
A planning application was lodged late last year with Durham County Council for a single wind turbine at Lindisfarne Farm in the village of Rowley, near Castleside.
The 15-metre tall turbine was proposed for a site in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, around 1km from the Waskerley Way.
However, council planning officials confirmed this week that the application has now been withdrawn.
