WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: The Women’s Institute meets at 7pm on the first Monday of each month in the small hall of Lanchester Community Centre.
Every member can contribute to the annual programme of speakers, activities and events. Women are allow to visit three times before joining.

DOG WALKING: Green Dog Walkers, a friendly campaign to tackle dog fouling issues in communities, is holding a free information and dog-micro-chipping session at The Lodge, Blackhill and Consett Park on Monday, February 17, from 10am-2pm.
To take part, dogs must be over 12 weeks old with up-to-date injections.

CHILD’S PLAY: The pre-school playgroup at Lanchester Community Centre is open during term-time every morning from 9.15am-11.15am.
Sessions for Tiny Tots, up to two years old, are held on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.15am-10.45am.
SPLASHING FUN: Aqua Aerobics, gentle workouts in the water for low-impact exercise are held at Belle Vue Swim Centre on Ashdale Road in Consett on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10am-11am and Thursday from 7pm-8pm. Sessions cost £3.90. For more information call 01207-218161.
