WOMEN’S GROUP: Alington House women’s group will hear a talk from Devin O’Leary, of Boston, titled Female Imagery in the mind of a Medieval Monk on Thursday, February 20. The group meets in Alington House community centre, North Bailey, Durham, from 11am to 1pm. The cost is £2 per person, including tea and coffee.
ORGAN RECITAL: Laura Erel of Hatfield College, Durham University, will give a recital on the Hatfield College chapel organ on Friday, February 21, at 1.10pm. Entry is free and open to all.
BEGINNERS’ GUIDE: Roy Alexander, an astronomy and physics lecturer, will give a talk titled A Beginner’s Guide to Astronomy at the next meeting of Durham Astronomical Society, to be held at Redwood Lodge Guide Hut, off Church Street, Durham, on Friday, February 28, at 7.30pm.
