THE annual search has begun to find talented young musicians who could win up to £300 to further their musical education.
Chester-le-Street Rotary Club, and the James Etherington Music Trust, which was set up to commemorate the famous local singer who performed in many West End shows, are running the James Etherington Musical Award.
Promising young musicians living in the DH postal area are invited to apply.
The first prize of £300 and a silver trophy will be presented to the winner of a competition performance at Chester-le-Street Methodist Church on Saturday March 29 to which the public will be invited. There is a runners-up prize of £150 and smaller awards will be made to other worthy participants.
