A SCHOOL has been praised for its community spirit.
Blue Coat CofE Junior School, in Newton Hall, Durham City, provided the entertainment at a party for around 60 senior citizens held at nearby All Saints Church, with a choir singing songs.
Funding for the party was provided by Durham Lions club, which afterwards presented the school with a certificate recognising its efforts in the community.
A Lions spokesman said: “The whole party was a splendid example of a local community combining its efforts.
"The church organised the party, the school provided the entertainment and Durham Lions club provided the funds to make it possible.”
