THE award-winning 2012 thriller Barbara, about a physician’s bid to flee Stasi-controlled East Germany of the 1980s, is the latest screening at Clayport Film Club, in Durham, on Thursday (February 6).

Curtain up is at 7.30pm, at Clayport Library, in Millennium Place, with membership £5 and a £4 charge per fortnightly film screening thereafter, or £3 for concessions.

IN HARMONY: Durham Harmonics Vocal Group, which bills itself as, “a lively pop and jazz choir", is moving venue to Durham Free School, at the former Gilesgate School, in Bradford Crescent, Gilesgate.

The group meets weekly on Tuesday, from 7 - 9pm, with new singers always welcome. Further information is available on 0191-377-8660.

ART WALK: Sophy Nixon leads what is described as an “easy” two-mile art walk from St Oswald’s Church, in Church Street, off New Elvet, Durham, on Saturday (February 8), starting at 10am.

It is expected to take up to two hours to complete and all those planning to take part are advised to bring something to sit on, plus an umbrella. There is a £4 charge per person.

OFFICERS’ REUNION: The annual reunion for prison staff takes place at the Tythe Barn Club, formerly known as the Prison Officers’ Club, off Hallgarth Street, in Durham, on Tuesday (February 11), from 7pm.

The event has grown in recent years, attracting many former and serving officers at the city’s three jails.
