A TALENT show hopeful entertained the crowds at a church Christmas fair.

Local singer Brendan Pallister, who is due to audition for the hit television show X Factor, was among the performers at the event in St Giles’ Church, Durham.

The fair was organised by the church’s Little Lights group, aimed at children under three and their parents or carers.

The Revd Alan Bartlett, who has just completed his fifth year at St Giles, said: "We staged the event to bring together the church and community so people feel at home in their church."
