YOUNGSTERS and their parents and relatives stepped out for charity at the weekend.
The ‘baby marathon’ was held on Saturday (June 1) in the Riverside Park at Chester-le-Street to raise money for the South Tees Hospitals Charity.
The event was held as a thank-you for the care given to poorly babies at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
Among the organisers were Richard and Claire Varle, of Chester-le-Street, whose son Joe was treated there after his birth last year.
Family, friends were invited to go along to the park with their children and babies to stroll around the park with the aim of achieving a total marathon distance. So far the sponsorship raised totals £887 from a target of £1,000.
