Durham County Council has approved plans by CTIL and Telefonica UK to replace a 17.5-metre phone mast at Pelton Lane, South Pelaw, Chester-le-Street. Band gig: Rock band Roadrunners will play the Market Tavern, South Burns, Chester-le-Street, on Friday (May 31). The gig starts at 8pm and admission is free. Lift shaft: Durham, County Council planners have approved a planning application for an external lift shaft to be installed at St John’s Court, Front Street, Sacriston.
