Durham County Council planning officers have granted permission for the change of use of a shop to create a hot food takeaway at Bank Chambers, Blackhills Road, Horden. A separate application for permission to fell 14 trees on land opposite Dalton Bridge, Dene Road, Dalton-le-Dale has also been granted.
PACT MEETING: A Police and Community Together (Pact) meeting will be held at Shotton Community Centre, Bridge Road, Shotton Colliery, from 5pm to 6pm on Wednesday, May 29. A member of the neighbourhood policing team will be in attendance.
AIKIDO CLUB: An Aikido club meets at the Chester-le-Street Community Centre in Newcastle Road, Chester-le-Street, from 7.30pm to 9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Beginners are welcome and can try a session before joining. Sessions are £3.50 each. For further information contact 0191-388 4752.
