SCHOOL pupils visited a French restaurant to celebrate Europe Day.
Year ten children from Belmont Community School, in Belmont, Durham, were taken to the award-winning Bouchon Bistrot, in Hexham, Northumberland.
They were challenged to order their food in French, dining on French specialities including snails in garlic butter.
Pupil Chelsea Leigh said: “I thought the visit was excellent because the food was gorgeous and the staff were very welcoming.
“I gained a lot more self-confidence in speaking French.”
Pupils also learned basic Italian.
