RESIDENTS are invited to study updated plans for new houses in their village later this week (Thursday, May 23).
Sherburn Hill residents are invited to a drop-in session at the village’s Sure Start Centre, next to the primary school, between 3.30pm and 6.30pm on Thursday.
Durham Villages Regeneration Company (DVRC) is looking at building up to 80 homes on land off Front Street.
The plans have been scaled back slightly since February, when the estimate was up to 100.
At the time, three options were being considered. DVRC will explain its preferred option at Thursday’s drop-in.
There are also separate proposals to build a new community centre. Durham County Council has ring-fenced £400,000 for the project and other funding is being sought.
