ORGANISERS of an exercise bike marathon hope to have raised £500 for charity.
About a dozen members of the Ladies for Fitness gym in Front Street, Chester-le-Street, powered the pedals for 24 hours at the weekend to support Cancer Research UK.
Gym boss Glenn Hill, a former soldier, said: “It was brilliant, it was a real good laugh.
“We haven’t got a final total but I think we are definitely looking at over £500, which is good as only a few of us did it.
“The girls did really awesome, there was no complaining, but everybody had sore bums.’’
