GREEN-fingered residents and workers are being invited to enter an annual floral competition.
Beautiful Durham is aimed at encouraging people in Durham to brighten up the city with floral displays in gardens, window boxes, plant pots and hanging baskets.
The Durham County Council-run contest is open to people living or working in the former Durham City district.
There are 13 categories, including house garden, floral containers, business premises, environmental project, sheltered accommodation complex and residential area.
Discretionary awards will also be made for special contributions.
Entry is free. Applications must be submitted by Wednesday, June 26.
Judging will take place on July 10 and 11 and the awards will be presented at a ceremony in Durham Town Hall on Wednesday, October 2.
