A TRAINING college will stage a 1940s garden party tomorrow (Saturday, May 11) to celebrate its 70th anniversary.
Finchale College, in Brasside, near Durham, will host the event from 10am to 2pm.
There will be bedding plants and hanging baskets for sale, stalls selling vintage gifts, children’s activities and more.
To celebrate the college’s roots as a rehabilitation centre for injured servicemen, staff and students will dress in Second World War costume to serve homebaked treats to visitors.
All funds raised will help the college provide vocational training and rehabilitation for disabled adults.
For more information, call the college on 0191-386-2634.
