A WOMAN received hospital treatment after being rescued from her smoke-filled flat early today (Monday, March 25).
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus brought the woman from the flats complex above shops at Cheveley Park, Belmont, Durham.
The woman was treated for smoke inhalation and superficial cuts at the scene before she was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham.
Fire crews from Durham, who received a call reporting the small fire in the front room shortly before 1am, used pressure ventilation fans to clear the smoke after putting out the blaze.
