Plans have been unveiled for a wind turbine at Junction House Farm, Easington Village. A planning application has been submitted to Durham County Council seeking permission for a turbine with a tip height of 46m, along with associated works. Consideration is pending.

TAKE-AWAY PLANS: An application has been submitted to Durham County Council seeking permission to change the use of premises at 1 Granby Terrace, Wingate, to create a hot food take-away. A decision is pending.

RETROSPECTIVE PERMISSION: Durham County Council planning officers have granted retrospective approval for a boundary fence at 4 Harehill Mews, Harehill Farm Road, Haswell. Retrospective permission has also been granted for a 1.8m high fence at 21 Thomas Street, Easington Colliery.

RURAL BUSINESS: An application has been submitted to Durham County Council seeking permission to keep a mobile home for a rural business at Woodview Stables, on land to the south of The Close, in Wingate. Permission is also being sought for the construction of a new hay barn.

PACT MEETING: A Police and Community Together (Pact) meeting will be held at Centrefield Pavilion, Sunderland Road, Horden, from 2pm to 3pm on Tuesday. A further meeting will be held at the Hazelwell Centre in Haswell from 6pm to 7pm on Tuesday. Member of the respective neighbourhood policing teams will be in attendance.
