SECURITY HELP: East Durham Homes is to hold an event at Kasco House Outreach centre, in Blackhall Rocks, to advise residents on how to stay safe against bogus callers. The Make A Difference event takes place on Tuesday from 10am to 1pm, when police will be on hand to offer crime prevention advice and give away free security door chains and mirrors.
STUDENT SUCCESS: Nathan Newton, from Horden, has been named East Durham College Student of the Month for March. The 17-year-old, who studies at the college’s Peter Jones Enterprise Academy, has started his own business importing specialist model parts from around the world for sale in the UK.
